Music CDs Might Be Going Away Sooner Than You Think

Here are my thoughts on CDs becoming a thing of the past.

I posted this on our station’s Facebook page too, but I wanted to put my own spin on it. So Best Buy may pull CDs from their stores, and Target may even follow suit. Fine…go ahead…I don’t go there anymore to buy CDs. Back in the day I spent all kinds of dumb money buying the import discs Best Buy and Circuit City would stock, all to get that one b-side that Australia got for some reason. If I really want something I can hold anymore and look at, I’ll see if there is a vinyl pressing, but I have to REALLY want to have that to pay $25+ to get a one album release. Being a music collector these days is interesting. Even buying used vinyl is getting pricey, because people know what they have and believe they can get the prices they see on eBay. You wanna collect music on a format you can hold in your hands, go to the local record store, support local business. They need your money more than some big box store anyway.
