Whitewater Community Foundation is Over Halfway to Campaign Fundraising Goal

The Whitewater Community Foundation fundraising campaign is over halfway to reaching its goal of $100,000. Donations need to be received by February 28th to be included in the annual fundraising goal.In November 2018, the Board of Directors of the Whitewater Community Foundation
announced an annual fundraising goal of $100,000. Current Board members Danielle Frawley
(President), Mark Dorn (Vice President), Kevin Brunner (Past President), David Yokum
(Secretary), Geoff Hale (Treasurer), Julie Caldwell, Thayer Coburn, Mark Elworthy, Ron
Jongetjes, Therese Kennedy, Sonia Soto, Hector Villarreal and Kristine Zaballos invited the
community to join them in their efforts to reach this goal. Earlier in 2018, the Whitewater Unified School District, under the stewardship of the Foundation, was honored to receive a $100,000 Endowment from the Kikkoman Foods Foundation, Inc. to fund scholarships for the benefit of graduating seniors. To thank Kikkomann for their generous gift, the Board of Directors set a goal to match these funds, and they need your help. Although providing scholarships is an important part of the Foundation’s mission,
Community Action Grants are awarded by the Foundation twice annually to local civic partners
in the community. During the most recent Fall Cycle of grants, a total of $10,530 was granted to
nine local civic organizations. “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the community in raising this much so far for the annual campaign,” Danielle Frawley, President of the Whitewater Community Foundation stated. “We are hopeful we will meet the goal of $100,000 by the end of this month,” she stated.
