On Sunday afternoon Janesville Police and Janesville Fire responded to a water rescue call. An eight year old boy was on the pier behind the Town Square Pavilion and fell into the Rock River. An Officer responded near Rivers Edge Bowl and threw a rope in which the boy was able to grab. The Officer pulled the boy to the edge of the cement embankment and a fisherman from a nearby boat was able to assist by lifting the boy out of the water so officers could lift him the rest of the way up over the embankment. The boy had no apparent injury, but was transported to a local hospital for medical examination.
