The Rays and Brewers have agreed to a trade sending first baseman Jesus Aguilar from Milwaukee to Tampa Bay, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports. Milwaukee is acquiring right-hander Jake Faria in return.
It’s been a down season for Aquilar, who had a line of .274/.352/.539 in 2018, has struggled this year putting up .225/.320/.374. Faria debuted with the Rays in ’17 and immediately contributed 86 2/3 innings of 3.43 ERA ball while averaging 8.7 K/9 against 3.2 BB/9 with a 38.3 percent ground-ball rate as a 23-year-old. However he struggled in 2018-19.
