A new ordinance passed by the Beloit City Council to ban possession of vaping products by minors is set to go into effect next week. It is worded much like current rules on cigarettes and cigars, but it prohibits the use of e-cigarettes instead. City officials say it was passed on the first day of school with the goal of keeping vaping products out of the hands of children. Prohibited areas for the use of the products include all enclosed workplaces or public places. It also bans the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.
